Almost 16 months since her emergency surgery, Patricia is in good health. On the one year anniversary of trip to the hospital, she brought a homemade cake and a note of gratitude to the emergency room staff. She is dedicated to doing community service; she started a discussion group for people with cancer and hands out free baby food to families in need. With a new lease on life, Patricia says she now values each and every minute.
Patricia wrote to ABC News producers on July 28, 2008: "Its hard to believe it has been a lil' over a year now. I am doing great. I was divorced on Nov 4, 2007. I and my 3 daughters are doing great, The first 6-8 months were a major adjustment period for me, trying to change my lifestyle and adjusting to not being able to do things the way I did before, but we have done it and are doing well."
I was wondering if you ever worked at E.C.D.C. in Chester, VA. I think I recognized you on Hopkins. I sure hope you are doing well.
